Another effective way to embody your goddess energy is to make art that connects you to your archetype. When we create, we are literally channeling goddess energy!

A couple of years ago, I painted a self-portrait of myself embodying my Sea Goddess archetype, inspired by the Queen of Cups from tarot and a photo taken of me in Ibiza. It hangs in my room as a reminder to be my most sensual, intuitive, goddess-like self.

As a Sea Goddess, I'm very expressive, and writing is my passion. When I lived in L.A. I would always write before/ during/ after my trips to the beach. Over the past couple of years, I wrote a fantasy novel called An Island Drowned in Blood. It’s also about goddesses, and it's coming out from Little, Brown on February 2, 2027! (27 is my lucky number, so I can’t believe the release date is 2/2/27!)

I also frequently listen to music and read poetry and books that help me get in touch with my emotions. There's nothing I love more than reading a book at the beach and collecting art on my travels. I purchased the Sea Fever poetry capsules pictured below in London and took them with me on my solo trip to Corsica.

If you ever feel like you're in a slump or not being your true self, stop what you're doing and make something! Paint, draw, sculpt, write, make music, dance, bake, whatever you want! We are creative beings, and nothing makes us feel more alive, or more in tune with our goddess energy, than when we're actually creating.

I also recommend making a playlist of songs that embody your goddess archetype. Listening to music is one of the quickest ways to drop into your archetype’s energy. For example, here’s a playlist I made for my Goddess of the Sea archetype.

My friend Juli is a Goddess of the Earth and Goddess of the Underworld. She’s an environmentalist who has recently felt the call to guide other people in the use of plant medicines to help them heal their connection to their inner selves and the Earth. One way she connects with her goddess energy is through painting. For me, her art evokes her love for the plants and animals (especially her cats!) who share this planet with us, as well as the deep wisdom contained in nature’s cycles of death, rebirth, and metamorphosis.
